Summary
The Best Connection are recruiting for our Client in the M26 area of RADCLIFFE.
Job description:
Carrying out general day to day duties relating to the transport function which will include;
Contribute to effective planning and organisation of vehicles and drivers
Efficient control of planning to ensure the optimum resource utilisation.
Despatch drivers and allocate jobs
Brief and debrief Drivers on a daily basis
Liaise with company workshops / service providers to ensure truck maintenance standards are met
Making bookings for deliveries to customers
Updating customers with delivery detail in real time, by email or phone
Data Input and use of computer systems
Assorted general administrative tasks
Dealing with queries and follow an escalation process as required
Filing and keeping of records
Undertaking any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required.
Working unsupervised, continually managing time and prioritising work to meet deadlines
Industry knowledge of distribution and logistics
Transport Planning / Operational background preferred
Knowledge of relevant legislation (drivers hours / Vehicle weights / dimensions etc. is desirable
Good Geography
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Flexible attitude to working hours
Good communication & organisational skills
Team player
Ability to work under own initiative
Ability to be flexible within the role, Hours of work are 4 on 4 off 0400 to 1600.
This role is currently unfder pay negotiations so will be increasing imminently.

- 28 days Paid Annual Leave pro-rata for PAYE (inclusive of statutory holiday)
