Supervisor Quality Assurance

Serco are proud to support RNAS Culdrose, one of Europe’s largest helicopter bases, located just outside Helston on the Lizard Peninsula. Here, Serco play a key role in offering maintenance and engineering services to the Royal Navy’s maritime Merlin aircraft fleet.
The Supervisor (QA) will support the QA activities for the IMOS platform, delivering aircraft quality audits and service delivery in accordance with Leonardo DOPs and Serco SMS.

As part of this you’ll


- Act as an Auditor for Quality Assurance (QA) Audits within Merlin Depth.
- Request remedial actions concerning Merlin Depth QA Audits.
- Coordinate and processing Quality Occurrence Reports (QORs) raised and received by Merlin Depth.
- Provide advice regarding QORs raised and received by Merlin Depth.
- Coordinate and processing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Opportunities For Improvement (OFIs).
- Act as an Investigator for Health and Safety, Quality and Accident investigations.
- Act as a Maintenance Error Decision Aid (MEDA) Investigator for Technical investigations.
- Carry out generic Risk Assessments and Environmental Risk Assessments.
- Carry out contracted tasks. (in accordance with current Customer Policy and Regulations and other applicable statutory Regulations).
- Ensure all verbal and written customer complaints and Quality issues are brought to the attention of Serco Engineering Managers and associated customer leads.
- Ensure the Serco Engineering Managers are to be informed when regulatory, continuation, induction, human factors, promotion, on–job and new equipment training is required for employees.




All Supervisor (QA) are to comply with:


- The Health and Safety at Work (HASAW) Act 1974.
- The Serco Management System.
- Where applicable Customer Policy and Regulations applicable to their grade and position.
- Company and Customer Environmental procedures.
- Company Equal Opportunities Policy.
- Other tasks within their capability are carried out as directed by the Quality System Coordinator.
- Administration tasks are carried out as required by the Quality System Coordinator.
- They are fully conversant with and have a complete understanding of the MRP 145 RA 4800 Regulatory Articles, SMS and the Group Policy Statements and Standards that apply to their part of the business.
- They participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and associated programmes when required.
- When deemed as qualified by the management team to do so and when requested subordinate grades are trained / mentored as a supporting task of the job requirement.



Requirements of the role


- Have a thorough understanding of rotary wing military (aviation) procedures.
- Have as a minimum a recognised Internal Auditor Qualification and experience in a Quality Assurance Role.
- Have the ability to exercise airworthiness maintenance authority.
- Have a thorough understanding of MAOS and MRP 145 RA 4800 Regulatory Articles.
- Have a thorough knowledge of Merlin maintenance, logistics, operational support and a good working knowledge of the following:



-

- Merlin Aircraft Systems (by Trade).
- Lean Operating Procedures.
- Naval Air Publications and Compound – Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (C-IETP).
- Health and Safety, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, Tool Control and Quality Practices.
- Engineering and Asset Management Systems.





- Completed a Maintenance Human Factors Course.
- To have completed all Serco essential training.
- Completed a Maintenance Human Factors Course.
- Have a thorough understanding of rotary wing military (aviation) procedures.
- An understanding and proven experience of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance iaw Regulatory and Legislative requirements (MAA and MAOS).
- Excellent leadership and people management experience
- An excellent capability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining operational outputs
