Summary

Location: CroydonDuration: 3-6 months with the possibility of extension Hours: 15/week some hybrid working considered 2 to 3 days a week Rate: £26.50/hour.
As a Paediatric Dietitian, you will work with community paediatric services, including community nurses, school nurses, GPs, and consultants to provide specialist nutrition and dietetic services for children with complex medical nutritional needs. Your responsibility will be to conduct MDT clinics for children on home enteral feeding, predominantly in outpatient settings. These clinics will be held at both schools and Croydon University Hospital, with occasional home visits required.In addition to outpatient clinics, you will also contribute to paediatric general outpatient clinics, receive training in allergy service, and share the inpatient caseload as needed. Dietetics department has a robust dietetic student training program, and you will play a key role in providing valuable experience in paediatrics to pre-registered dietitians alongside the band 7 paediatric allergy dietitian and band 6 dietitian. You will be supported by shared dietetic assistants.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and provide an effective, evidence-based dietetic service for children and young people in Croydon with nutritional concerns.Develop and update protocols for children and young people on enteral feeding, including guidelines on blended diets.Provide high-quality specialist dietetic care to paediatric outpatients referred by GPs, consultants, or health professionals based on departmental referral access criteria.Oversee the provision of dietetic care to children on home enteral feeding in the community.Manage effective communication with parents, nurses, consultants, and other agencies involved in the care of children under the dietetic service.Provide ongoing support to parents and carers primarily via email and telephone calls.Deliver a high-quality specialist dietetic service to children with autism, allergy, and faltering growth in general outpatient clinics.Share ward cover for children during acute admissions when necessary.
Essential:Full Registration HCPCMasters-level study or equivalent training/experience.Member of the BDA Specialist Paediatric group.Experience in managing children on Home Enteral Feeding and Neonatal ExperiencePrevious experience conducting audits and/or research.Extensive experience in outpatient clinics.Post-registration experience of managing children with allergies and faltering growth.Sound clinical knowledge.Able to travel between sites.Physical capability to carry equipment, including scales, and engage in bending and lifting.Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.Access to a car and a full UK driving licence.
