Summary


The Recruitment Co are currently recruiting for a HSEQ Manager to work for an established, growing business in the Blackpool area.

HSEQ Manager salary: £45,000 per annum

HSEQ Manager hours: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

HSEQ Manager Roles and responsibilities:

  • To ensure procedural maintenance and compliance across the company, specifically to ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards and all legal requirements in the implementation of safe working practice.
  • Demonstrate a regular presence in the factory, proactively interacting with the workforce to promote safe working practices across the sites.
  • Assist the PFC UK Operations Director to ensure delivery of safety performance in line with personal, team and functional goals and objectives.
  • Provide accurate and timely information regarding site HSEQ performance to the PFC UK Operations Director.
  • Lead in the delivery of the HSEQ strategy across all UK sites.
  • Integrate with the PFC UK Senior Management Team to provide advice, support and guidance on all matters relating to health, safety and the environment.
  • Maintain records, documents and standards required for ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001 and third-party audits.
  • Undertake environmental, health and safety, and quality management system planning including the setting of goals, agreeing priorities and establishing adequate systems for performance management.
  • Prepare required reports in relation to HSEQ activities, accident claims, lost time accident, RIDDOR, non-conformances.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and/or arrange HSEQ training programs/courses as required.
  • Lead, facilitate and contribute to the H&S and Environmental committee, and Management Review Meetings
  • Work collaboratively with the Occupational Health provider as required to offer site specific health and safety information to support the health surveillance function.
  • Promote and develop a positive safety culture which successfully embeds HSEQ policy, procedures and positive work practices across all UK sites.
  • Conduct incident and non-conformance investigations, report and carry out trend/root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Create, issue and review alerts and toolbox talk to implement and disseminate policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Conduct internal audits, site inspections and liaise with external auditors/external bodies in surveillance audits/inspections when needed.
  • Liaise with department managers/supervisors to create, issue, review risk assessments/safe systems of work, advising H&S guidelines when new processes are being implemented.
  • Monitor, track and communicate HSEQ performance as well as ensuring the delivery of the overall improvement plan.
  • Ensure that risk assessments, COSHH assessments, environmental impact assessments and management system audits are conducted and followed up by appropriate corrective actions, working closely with
    departmental managers.
  • Ensure that all specialist environmental, health and safety hazards such as fire and noise are assessed and managed effectively.
  • Ensure the adequate provision and management of first aid equipment and chemical spill equipment.
  • Ensure the adequate provision of trained first aiders and fire marshals.
  • Ensure that all systems for HSEQ are maintained and monitored.



HSEQ Manager Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • Environmental Health and Safety Diploma, NEBOSH or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven track record as an effective HSEQ Manager for a medium/large organisation.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of HSEQ compliance legislation.
  • Strong experience in a manufacturing environment.
