Summary

We work with young adults with complex additional learning needs and disabilities, teaching them to self-advocate, build skills and find greater independence.

As the Maintenance Manager at Elidyr, you'll be responsible for overseeing all installation, repair, and upkeep of our fantastic facilities. The successful candidate will be a reliable, skilled manager with a keen eye for detail and a good understanding of facilities management.

You'll need a big heart and dedication for creating a positive and inclusive environment for our residents. The role demands someone who can ensure our facilities maintain the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and tidiness.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations - Oversee and direct all maintenance procedures and operations. Ensure all equipment and systems function correctly and efficiently.

Team Management - Lead a team of 3, manage, and supervise maintenance people, including team members and subcontractors. Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.

Safety & Compliance - Ensure all maintenance activities comply with legal standards and internal policies. Promote and enforce safety always.

Budget Management - Develop and monitor the department’s budget. Approve maintenance expenditures and ensure cost-effectiveness.

Preventive Maintenance - Implement and manage preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and maintenance costs.

Emergency Response - Coordinate rapid and effective response to emergency situations involving facility equipment and systems.

Supplier Management - Negotiate with and oversee the work of contractors and service providers.

Record Keeping - Maintain accurate records of the condition of equipment and other systems within the site. Compile regular reports documenting maintenance and repair work.

Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities for improvement and suggest new projects.


Requirements

Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar role.

Knowledge of engineering, facility management best practices, and legal standards.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Proficiency in handling budgeting and reporting.

Certification in maintenance management, health and safety, or similar is advantageous.
