Required Qualifications: Level 2/3 catering qualifications, or working towards them
Duties of a Chef Assistant are varied, and no two days will be the same in the home’s busy kitchen. As a general guide you will prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, providing special dietary requirements where necessary for residents. You will plan and cost menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of available fresh foods. You will maintain accurate records and the correct orders of food supplies. You will also check deliveries and ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately and the kitchen, dining areas, including equipment, are cleaned to statutory Health and Safety standards.
