Summary

*Non-Care Coordination Role *

Hello, I am Ruth, Occupational Therapy Lead for the North Community Locality Teams in CPFT. If successful, you will be based in the Peterborough Adult Locality Team South to support the delivery of the 5 core workstreams which include: Foundational Vocation, Functional Assessment, Reablement, and Sensory Approaches. You will have the opportunity to deliver structured, OT specific intervention to adults who access secondary mental health services.

If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference to the delivery of care for service users across a broad range of mental health settings and you are passionate about supporting staff to develop their practice through innovation and empowerment – then this is the role for you!

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and innovative Registered Occupational Therapist to join the Adults and Specialist Mental Health Directorate. This is a full-time post (37.5 hours) but part- time will be considered for the right applicant. All our Trust Occupational Therapy services use the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) for assessment and treatment with a strong focus on better supporting patients in their recovery journey.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust are a leading research active organisation, and we work with global, national, and local partners to conduct high quality and ground-breaking research.

If successful then your main role will be to provide specialised Occupational therapy assessments and interventions, encompassing the 5 workstreams: Foundational, functional, reablement, vocational, and sensory. You will work alongside other Occupational Therapist’s in the team to deliver 1:1 specialist intervention as well as group work, with the support from myself.

As a Trust we have been investing in using sensory approaches to support Occupational Therapists to deliver targeted sensory modulation interventions, in collaboration with our patients and designed to support the management of the impact of physiological and psychological distress on daily life. This is currently being done through 1:1 and group work. The trust is also able to offer streams of peer and formal supervision (depending on qualification status) to clinicians to ensure quality sensory approaches intervention is delivered within the locality teams.

Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is a health & social care organisation dedicated to providing high quality care with compassion to improve the health & wellbeing of the people we care for, as well as supporting & empowering them to lead a fulfilling life.

Our clinical teams deliver many NHS services not only via inpatient and primary care setting but also with the community. These services include Children, Adult & Older Peoples mental & physical health, Forensic & Specialist mental health, Learning Disabilities, Primary Care & Liaison psychiatry, Substance misuse, Social Care, Research & Development.

To achieve our goal, we look to recruit high calibre candidates that share our vision & values. As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage applications from all sectors of the community, particularly from under-represented groups including disabled people & members of our ethnic minorities & LGBTQ+ communities.

Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities.

• Working with Occupational Therapy colleagues deliver workstreams within the locality team.
• Development and delivery of Occupational Therapy based groups to the service population.
