Summary

The Role

Here is an overview of the duties:

Principal Responsibilities

Hold responsibility for TRP’s Individual and Corporate Membership schemes.

Analyse and report regularly on Membership campaign delivery in line with financial targets to develop loyalty and support further income generation.

Lead the Development team in supporting TRP’s strategic Business Plan objectives.

Principal Tasks

With the Head of Marketing and Communications set and manage departmental targets accordingly and regularly review outcomes taking corrective action in circumstances of budgetary variance.

Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications, and wider Marketing team to identify opportunities to grow loyalty across appropriately identified segments of our audience database, translating them into TRP Members.

Maintain profit margins as defined in the annual budgeting process and look to maximise these wherever possible to provide further unrestricted income to the charity.

Develop and deliver an appealing and flexible Corporate Membership offering at TRP to grow our capacity to cater to a wider pool of businesses and their needs.

Identify additional Corporate Sponsorship & Partnership opportunities across the organisation to support further income generation and strengthen our business links in the region.

Create and execute acquisition and upgrade campaigns for Individual Members to consistently grow all Membership levels offered by TRP.

Ensure the retention plans for Individual and Corporate Memberships are operating at the highest possible level, factoring in regular reviews to allow for improvements where possible and necessary.

Cultivate an engagement strategy that delivers maximum occupancy across TRP’s commercial portfolio.

Deliver successful Individual and Corporate Members events that both create a wider understanding of TRP’s work and generate revenue opportunities, utilising our range of programming where applicable.

Utilise productions and performances to engage with prospective partners and further develop their involvement and relationship with TRP, utilising other key personnel from the charity where appropriate.

Enable and promote opportunities for our most loyal audiences to further support TRP’s charitable work through donations and stewardship.

Ensure all communications to Members are bespoke and curated to those individuals, are of the highest quality and successfully highlight TRP’s key objectives.

Report and evaluate on all key campaigns to identify further opportunities of development, and to communicate the success of the work.

With the Media & Communications Manager, identify press opportunities to communicate the successful support of our Individual and Corporate Members.

Work with colleagues to create, maintain, and update relevant marketing collateral

Ensure the professional account management of all Members, ensuring membership recruitment and retention, excellent customer experience and delivery of contractual obligations.

Represent the Department at internal and external meetings and proactively communicate the work of the team, ensuring a wider understanding of the impact of the work.

Research organisations and individuals to identify new prospects and markets for the charity, and ensure that proposals are objective specific, utilising appropriate data and clearly defined ROI where appropriate.

Represent the theatre at external events and meetings with current or prospective supporters as and when required.

Line management of the Development team.

A higher-level qualification relevant to the post and at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role OR equivalent experience which demonstrates knowledge of individual and corporate memberships, philanthropy and partnership working.

Experience of developing revenue and loyalty focussed relationships and partnerships.

Strong understanding of the Plymouth and Devon business landscape.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adapt to different audiences, channels, and purposes.

Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure.

A high standard of office IT competence and standard creative software and kit.

Proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, and external partners.

Ability to generate a stream of creative ideas collaboratively with wider departments.

Able to use their own initiative and work as part of a team.

Able to inspire and lead a team.

The ability to interact confidently with a wide variety of individuals both in person or digitally (individual members, corporates, producers, company managers, cast & crew, senior managers).

Flexible working approach, willing and able to support the needs of the organization.

Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure.

Experience of developing communications that change and adapt based on the audience/genre/budget.

Can contribute to the development and implementation of communication strategies and campaigns.
