Our Role
We are recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team at our Todhills site.
Our production site uses specialised tools and machinery that turn our raw materials (e.g. clay) into products ready for use in the construction industry.
The team ensure all our electrical/mechanical plant equipment is working effectively, they reduce downtime, and they ensure everything is operating in a safe manner.
Known as a Maintenance Electrician internally, you will gain further experience of trouble shooting, project work and continuous improvements.
You will be required to assist in all maintenance activities on site and to ensure factory production budgets are met.
Duties include:
Install and or maintain all electrical & electro-mechanical plant or machinery
Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system
Program all Siemens & other PLC equipment.
Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults in the shortest possible time.
Ensure that all plant and machinery is kept in a good working and clean condition.
Assist with the installation of new plant equipment.
Order and collect spares and electrical materials for new and existing plant
Maintain and monitor the machines and equipment
Promote Lean thinking
Be available for call out duties in the event of a plant breakdown.
What You’ll Bring
You’ll be an experienced maintenance engineer with strong electrical skills gained from working in a manufacturing setting.
You’ll have excellent knowledge and experience of fault finding, problem solving, and working safely to reduce downtime.
You’ll also have/be
Electrical engineering apprenticeship (or similar)
ONC/BTEC – HNC/BTEC (or equivalent in Electrical engineering)
17th / 18th edition qualified
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is essential
Good communicator (verbal and written)
Good knowledge of Siemens PLC’s – s7 TIA portal
Knowledge of electric motors / pneumatics
Sound mechanical skills
Experience of working in a Safety-First culture
Hours of Work: 2 week rotation of days and night shifts. 6.30am to 6.00pm (days) & 6.30pm-6.00am (nights) on a continental shift pattern, which equates to an average of 38.5 hours per week.
Week 1 is Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat
Week 2 is Sun, Wed, Thurs
