We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated Senior Assistant Management Accountant to support the Research & Innovation Service (RIS) providing high quality financial support. In this role you will be working closely with the Finance Manager (RIS). You will assist in the delivery of effective and efficient financial support across the Service. This is an integral role supporting the Finance Manager with all aspects of planning, forecasting and month end reporting.

As a member of the Financial Planning & Analysis Finance Team, you will support the Research & Innovation Service (RIS) in providing a high-quality financial support service.

Reporting to the RIS Finance Manager you will provide support in the financial planning and forecasting, budgetary control, and monthly and quarterly reporting for the RIS Senior Management Team.

You will have substantial experience of working in a similar role and have excellent analytical and IT skills with extensive experience of using Microsoft Excel. You will also possess exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team along with a strong customer service ethos. You will be a strong team player and can work effectively on your own initiative. You will work closely with other financial and management accounting colleagues and other non-finance professionals from across the University.

You should be a proactive individual with the ability to use your own initiative to carry out the role, without the need for close supervision.

This vacancy is within the Finance Service, but it is based in the Research and Innovation Service (RIS). However, should the business need arise, and after full consultation with you, you may be deployed elsewhere within the Finance Service.
