We are one of the biggest and busiest NHS Trusts in the country and our teams at NUH make a difference every day.

We provide a range of national and internationally renowned specialist services and we are at the forefront of new surgical procedures and research programmes. We are home to the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre, Nottingham Children's Hospital and in partnership with the University of Nottingham we host a Biomedical Research Centre carrying out vital research into hearing, digestive diseases, respiratory, musculoskeletal disease, mental health and imaging.

Through the significant investment from the Government’s New Hospital programme, we now have the opportunity to transform how – and where - we deliver our healthcare in the future. Tomorrow’s NUH (TNUH), one of our biggest service change programmes, is not simply about investment in buildings and equipment, it is going to be central to how our health and care system works as a whole, in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. As Head of Clinical Planning, you will part of a team that will be instrumental in delivering a programme that will have a significant impact on our patients, staff and communities for many years to come.

In addition to the brief list above you must familiarise yourself with the full job description and person specification attached to this advert prior to applying.

As Head of Clinical Planning you will provide dedicated clinical planning leadership to support the delivery of Tomorrow’s NUH. You will be responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating the clinical planning and clinical related design activities associated with the delivery of new healthcare facilities.

Specialist knowledge and experience of leading clinical/nursing teams in a clinical environment is a must as you will be responsible for the development and management of a team of clinical project managers. As a senior leader within the TNUH team, you will be strategically linked with other key roles within the Programme, across NUH and will develop meaningful relationships with stakeholders and partners across the system.

You will need to champion our design principles and values throughout the design briefing, design development and construction processes, ensuring that innovation and digital is embedded within the clinical solution. Whilst you will support technical design processes from a clinical perspective, you will not expected to be a technical design or commissioning specialist.

This is an exciting time to be joining NUH and the TNUH team, to help deliver the ambitions of the TNUH Programme.
