Job title: Personal Assistant
Location: Borth area
Hours of work: 6 hours per week
Rate of Pay: £12.00 per hour

Introduction
A caring, patient and committed personal assistant is required to support our 12 year old daughter who is Autistic with a PDA (pathological demand avoidance) profile. This is primarily to help her to develop confidence and skills to step out into the world and develop her interests in her own time.

We are a neuro divergent family and we celebrate Autistic identity and do not see this as a disadvantage but more a challenge due to living in a neuro typical world, it is for this reason that support is needed.

Her current special interests are make-up art and fashion design. She is initially shy but once you get to know her she will make you laugh lots. She loves clothes and fashion and loves the family dog Tilly and the cat Milly. She loves listening to music.

Support will initially involve working with the family to build a relationship and eventually lead to lone working. A flexible approach is a must as PDA is anxiety based and can lead to arrangements changing at the last minute due to her demand avoidance and anxiety. It is extremely important that the key worker is able to develop a PDA informed approach, please see the following link for information on PDA https://www.pdasociety.org.uk/

We are looking for someone with an open mind and a non- judgmental outlook.

We welcome applications from someone with a genuine interest in getting to know our daughter. She is bright, funny and creative.

Please do get in touch if this sounds like you we would love to chat.

This post is funded through Ceredigion County Council’s Direct
