Job objectives and responsibilities

The two primary objectives of this job role are:

-To deliver security industry related and bespoke training packages to security teams across the clients estate. Reporting to Account Director, this role will provide day to day support in the delivery of training to help our colleagues to develop themselves and their skills. The successful candidate would also ideally be qualified to deliver; SIA based qualifications, First Aid, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, CT and any other security related training as required and coordinate support via Mitie's wider group L&D team.

-Head up the coordination and support of Social Value commitments under the contract. Working closely with Mitie's Foundation team, Account Management, and Regional Operational Management Teams to ensure monthly SV targets are hit and stats are collated and reported correctly.

Other objectives:

-Evaluating the training needs of the Teams and plan training programs accordingly.

-Setting performance metrics, evaluating productivity and assist in creating long-term training plans

-Developing and introducing a culture of ongoing learning and development.

It is essential that all personnel fully demonstrate commitment to Mitie Values and the contract Objectives of Security / Safety, Quality, Service Excellence, Cost and People.

Main duties

-Develop training courses using a range of mediums/techniques including face to face and e-learning.

-Provide reports to management on progress and implementation of the training strategy.

-Identifying training and development needs of the various teams operating across the client estate through job analysis and regular consultation with key stakeholders within the contract operational management structure.

-Design and deliver training and development programmes based on individual, departmental and organisational needs.

-Advising on individual learning plans, resolving specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups

-Monitor and review the progress of new personnel through competency questionnaires and discussions with operational management.

-Ensure regulatory training requirements such as licensing are met through use of internal training network.

-Maintain up-to-date records of all training delivered in personal and electronic files.

-Amending and revising programmes as necessary, to adapt to changes occurring in the account operational requirement.

-Ensure all MAC 2.3 Commitments are achieved.

-25 MyCareer Journey Toolkits undertaken (Annual)

-5 mentoring programmes established (Annual)

-168 LiveSafe toolbox talks completed (Annual)

-15 apprentices enrolled (Annual)

-Work with the Mitie L&D team to deliver training in line with the account requirements and plans agreed the Account Management Team.

-Provide and maintain MI reporting and data regarding training, development, and SV activity.

-Ensure all training meets regulatory and QA standards where required.

-Ensure all learning is delivered in an engaging and professional manner.

-Support in the identification and build of communication activity, to promote the learning being delivered and its impact.

-Be an ambassador for the Mitie vision and values and ensure they are embedded into all training interventions.

Person Specification

Experience and qualifications.

-Formal qualification in Training would ideally be:

-Level 3 Teaching Qualification PTLLS

-Level 3 Conflict Management Trainer

-Health and Safety Level 3 or equivalent

-Current First Aid /Assessor qualification

-Fire Safety trainer.

-SIA qualifications in DS, SG, and CCTV

-Experience of supporting improvement through training

-Previous experience in the security industry

-Developed and demonstrable understanding and experience of workplace training

-Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

-Experience in delivering both face-to-face and blended learning approaches.

-Understanding of digital learning and blended learning techniques

-Commercial Awareness

-Strong attention to detail and a creative approach to delivery

Health and Safety responsibilities

-Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;

-Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;

-Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;

-Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
