About the post

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as the Redevelopment Project Manager. The post holder will join the Hillingdon Hospital redevelopment Programme Management Office (PMO) and be a part of the team who are driving the successful delivery of a full brand-new hospital on the Hillingdon Hospital site.

The post holder will be an enthusiastic and proactive individual who has a proven track record and experience in project management, who can demonstrate a solutions focused approach. The post holder will ensure the highest standards of governance and the adoption of best practice programme management methodologies and will have a key role in managing the day-to-day business of the redevelopment programme across multiple workstreams.

Working within a high performing, friendly and dynamic team, the post holder will lead on all delegated projects as the scheme moves through the next stage of business case development.

The successful candidate

To succeed, the post holder will be enthusiastic and highly motivated with demonstrable project management experience and a track record of applying best practice project management methodologies. Proven experience in risk management is required, including the implementation of risk management processes and proactive risk mitigation strategies, as the post holder will lead the programme’s risk management workstream, ensuring risks are captured, proactively managed and that mitigation plans are enacted.

The post holder will service a matrix of meetings necessary to deliver the redevelopment programme and will be experienced in developing accurate minutes where complex items are discussed. They will produce high quality reports and have evidence of report writing for senior audiences.

The redevelopment Project Manager is an integral post within the redevelopment PMO team. They will have experience in scheduling and will support the redevelopment PMO team to maintain an effective framework of governance at a programme and workstream level and to deliver a high quality and effective PMO service for the programme, ensuring key programme documentation is developed and maintained to a high standard.





The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

The successful candidate will have experience in developing and maintaining project plans and will support the development of a continuous improvement and lessons learned approach to ensure that the redevelopment programme continues to perform to the highest standard.

The successful candidate will be organised, flexible and an excellent team player who is comfortable working with staff at all levels and can work autonomously as part of a friendly and supportive team.

Main responsibilities
• Lead the risk management workstream, ensuring risks are captured, proactively managed and mitigation plans are enacted. Work with risk owners to ensure that workstream and programme risk registers are maintained and produce reports for the key governance forums e.g. Redevelopment Steering Group and Redevelopment Programme Board.
• Lead on all delegated projects and the co-ordination of actions required. Support, manage and motivate project teams effectively in order to deliver project goals using best practice project management processes and methodologies.
• Service key meetings required to progress the work of the redevelopment programme including set up, drafting and agreeing agendas, drafting and co-ordinating papers and producing minutes and action logs. Ensure key actions are progressed between meetings, providing support as required and ensure updates are provided.
• Work with workstream Executive/Management leads to establish key workstreams, ensuring an effective framework of governance and that detailed project plans are developed and maintained and key issues identified and escalated.
• Facilitate collaborative working across workstreams and ensure national guidance and / or policies are socialised and reflected in workstream outputs.
• Develop papers, reports and returns to provide assurance on the progress of the programme internally and externally and to support decision-making. Formally present reports to groups as required.
• Manage the business of the Redevelopment Programme Management Office and provide support to ensure agreed objectives are articulated and delivered through an efficient, high quality and effective service.
