Summary
Steelcraft (NE) Ltd designs, fabricates and installs a range of architectural steel products including railings, gates, balconies, balustrade, and handrails. Our products are also available nationwide through our e-commerce brand, Forjj.
As the business embarks on a growth plan in our new facility, we are looking to recruit a combined role of labourer & painter.
Metalwork labourers in the workshop prepare steel for fabrication and prepare finished product for installation using a variety of tools and machines.
This role includes the following tasks:
- Driving a company vehicle to work locations around the North East.
- Outdoor and workshop painting of steel products.
- Lone working on sites.
- Quality inspection (inbound and outbound goods)
- Defect correction
- Packaging outbound goods.
- Collaborate with stores operative to ensure efficiency in stores & workshop.
- Support with other tasks on the factory floor.
- Significant manual handling & use of hand tools and power tools.
Experience and skills:
• Driving licence - essential
• CSCS Card (or willingness to train for CSCS card) – essential
• Proven experience as a painter or similar role – essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team – essential
• Wet spraying products – advantageous
• Forklift licence – advantageous
• Experience of lone working – advantageous
Full time – 7:30-16:30 (Mon-Thurs) & 7:30 – 12:30 (Fri)
Salary: £11.44-£12.50 per hour - To be discussed at interview stage
Expected hours: 39 per week
