6 months contract
• Carry out a wide range of duties including:
Grass cutting including utilising ride on and pedestrian mowers
Strimming
Weed management including manual and chemical application
Grave excavations including cremated remains
Grave clearances, setting and marking out of graves
Associated works within the cemetery environment i.e. opening, tidying chapel etc
Inclement weather
Playground inspections
Shrub pruning
Line marking
Leaf collection
Hedge trimming
Tree/shrub/herbaceous planting, maintenance and edging
Watering
Emptying litter bins
Litter picking
Mulch applications
Seasonal bed/border preparation
Removal of headstones
Completion of all necessary paper work in a timely manner
• Ensure all grounds maintenance work is carried out efficiently to ensure the right level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
• Carry out daily checks of vehicles, equipment and machinery and report any defects.
• Responsible for own health and safety, work colleagues and others in accordance with relevant legislation including accident/incident reporting and inform the Supervisor of any changes to current risk assessments, safe systems of work etc .
• Undertake any relevant training which may be deemed necessary to ensure duties are carried out effectively.
• Support the management team of the service performance including making recommendations for improvements and contribute to the cultural change in the service.
• Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected at this level
