Summary

Children`s home deputy manager
Hours: 40 hours per week, including sleep-ins (£55 per sleep-in)
Salary: £27,000 - £32,000pa
Location: Sway - Lymington

Brook Street is recruiting for Children Deputy Manager for an Outstanding, 2-bed young people service in Sway - Lymington. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Support Worker or a Team Leader to step up into the role of Deputy Manager. As a provider who values their staff, the organisation is committed to growth and aims to create development opportunities for both internal and external managers

The role entails...
. Management of rotas and the team of staff.
. Providing advice, assistance and support to staff and the young people, safeguarding their welfare
. Attending to the young people`s practical, physical and emotional needs.
. Acting as an appropriate role model
. Working closely with young people to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.



The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and skills:
. Ability to relate to and communicate with young people forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people
. Show ability to engage with young people in positive and proactive approach
. Awareness of young people`s needs
. Awareness of safeguarding issues and ability to safe guard the welfare of young people
. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
. Ability to work under own initiative
. Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
. Ability to work in partnership and liaise with other professionals
. Ability to recognise and acknowledge training needs and respond appropriately
. Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
. Understanding Equal Opportunities and Anti-Discrimination Practice issues


Requirements of the role:
. Secondary Education
. Minimum of 12 months experience of work or volunteering with children and young people or vulnerable young adults
. Willing to work towards Diploma level 3 in Health & Social care children and young people
. Childcare qualification - NVQ / Diploma level 3 health and social care, children and young people equivalent
. Current clean full driving license


Salary up to £32,000pa
