Purovets are looking for a driven and committed Veterinary Surgeon for a well-known and respected veterinary practice in Essex. Ideally, you will be a small animal vet who is confident with routine medical and surgical cases and is looking to progress in their career. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon who is ambitious and wanting to specialise in a particular area, as my client will actively encourage and support you along the way.

The practice is a Grade 2 listed building with a purpose-built extension encompassing two operating theatres, separate dog and cat kennelling, prep area and diagnostic imaging suite. They also have state-of-the-art facilities including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring, ECG, ophthalmoscopes, endoscopy, a therapeutic class IV laser and other day-to-day diagnostic equipment. They are proud to be an RCVS-accredited practice, have achieved cat friendly status and are a nurse training practice.

You will be joining an experienced team of three veterinary surgeons, including the clinical director who has a keen interest in orthopaedics and regularly undertakes TTA and stifle surgeries and fracture repairs. Their fantastic support team comprises eight knowledgeable and friendly RVNs, one SVN and a dedicated practice management team. There is also a visiting vet who is an Advanced Practitioner in Diagnostic Imaging working each week, as well as a visiting Cardiology Diplomat helping them improve their overall cardiology knowledge and care. The practice actively encourages certificate study, having several vets currently enrolled. They offer high quality medicine and a varied caseload with clinical freedom in a supportive and close-knit team.

They offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle. Whether you are looking to flex your rota hours to balance the school holidays, fix to navigate the school runs or just looking to strike that balance between home and work life, they can offer flexibility that actually works for you. Their vets usually work between the hours of 8:30am 7pm with most full time choosing to work their hours over four days, however they believe in offering flexible working and can offer a range of options including but not limited to full-time / part-time / consulting only roles. This role does have a share in their 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota, however there is no OOHs requirement.

The practice is situated in a picturesque market town and one hour to London by train. You will be only a short drive from the beautiful Suffolk and North Essex coast, offering opportunities for a wide range of leisure activities. The practice is just 20 minutes from the lively riverfront town of Ipswich and the city of Colchester with its iconic Roman castle and historic city centre.
