Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is seeking applications from individuals for the role of ICT Technician within the ICT Department based at Service Headquarters, Carmarthen.
Please note there are two vacancies for this role.

The Role
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service pride themselves on their innovative approach to solving problems and utilising technology to enhance the way the employees can achieve results. With a mix of cutting edge and legacy technologies currently in place we are looking for candidates who can bring new ideas and an innovative, positive approach to their work.

ICT within the Service is currently undergoing rapid change with some interesting projects being rolled out over the coming years. Some of these projects will create major positive change within the organisation and ICT will be at the heart of them, so it is a great opportunity for someone passionate and enthusiastic about ICT and who has a great work ethic.

The postholder will play an integral role in providing ICT support for Service users across the organisation. Working across different ICT teams to provide support as required.

Team Responsibilities
ICT Technicians may work permanently or temporarily within one of the following teams in the ICT department:

Operational Support Team
Business Support Team
Solutions Team
Security Team
We currently have one vacancy for an ICT Solutions Technician working within the ICT Solutions Team and another role as an ICT Technician taking on a more general role across the department but reporting to the Business Systems Team.

Full responsibilities relating to each team are outlined in the job description attached.

This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week with flexible hours in line with the Service’s flexi-time scheme. However, there may also be some requirement for travel across the Service area.

The ICT department also provides on call provision to support with out of hours issues across the Service on a one in five rota. There may be a future requirement for the postholder to help provide this cover on a rota basis, with associated remuneration.
