37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 3 months
City: GLENFIELD
Enhanced DBS disclosure required
The role is Hybrid however they would like the candidates to be in the office based for the first 2 weeks to complete training and to meet the team, they will have their caseload of young people with a visiting pattern so candidates will need to be flexible to complete visits as well as team meeting.
x2 PA for the USAC team and x1 PA for the Care Leaver Team.
Support the work of Children in Care Service incorporating the Care Leaver services (some with unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee young people).
Key Responsibilities


Responsible for carrying out all the duties of the job in accordance with the County Councils Equal Opportunities Policy
Meet Children’s Workforce development Confederation Induction Standards
Support and advocate for Children & Young People who are Looked After or Leaving Care (including Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children/Young People).
Contribute to Single Assessments. To contribute to Age Assessments.
Supervise contact visits when parents are visiting children who are looked after.
Provide necessary transport for children/young people and parents/carers.
Undertake identified Life Story Work
Undertake such other duties as are within the scope of the job purpose, the title of the job and its grading.
Attend supervision compliant with CYPS Supervision policy and procedure and with the Team Manager at annual PDR and mid-year review their individual and developmental needs.
Complete Common Induction Standards and undertake continuing professional and personal development to develop and update knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:






Level 3 childcare qualification (NNEB/NVQ3 or equivalent) - desirable

Knowledge:


Child Development
Home Safety Issues
Safeguarding children issues
Basic child behavioural techniques
The needs of older children

Experience:


Experience of behavioural work with children / young people and their carers
Relevant paid or unpaid experience of working with young people within a social care setting or similar.
Have experience completing pathway plans
Providing support services to young people and/or unaccompanied and refugee young people - desirable

Skills & Abilities:


Organisational and planning skills
IT skills/email/Microsoft word
Able to produce clear, accurate records and reports.
Able to analyse information to reach sound decisions, often under pressure, and take responsibility for their outcome and regular reporting to the Team manager.
Able to communicate clearly and accurately, orally and in writing, with a wide range of people, including representatives from other agencies, using skills of negotiation and persuasion.
Ability to work creatively
Ability to communicate clearly with children, young people, parents and other professionals
