We are looking to appoint a consultant to work in the Adolescent medical team, named Treatment and Rehabilitation of Adolescents with Complex Conditions Service (TRACCS) within UCLH’s Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine Division. The post will also include general paediatric responsibities, with an emphasis on adolescent medicine, as well as supporting the general paediatric team with on calls, attending and clinic.

Our Adolescent Service is recognised as a leading example at a national level and the inpatient unit is the largest in Europe.

We are passionate about providing excellent clinical care for young people alongside the best training opportunities. You would join a highly motivated team at the cutting edge of both service development and academic research. You will benefit from innovative and high quality training, supervision and support for QI and educational initiatives, including simulation. You will need excellent communication, team working and clinical skills and lots of enthusiasm!

As part of the team you would work with the other three consultants, registrar, fellow and SHO to see patients in clinics, day care and the adolescent ward. Outpatients often suffer from fatigue, pain, medically unexplained conditions and both physical and emotional difficulties. The adolescent unit has a mix of patients under different teams as well as the adolescent team who looks after young people with complex conditions for example affecting both physical and emotional health. There are many opportunities for working with multidisciplinary team colleagues. You would have responsibility for adolescent clinics, day care and inpatients.

General paediatric work would include 6 weeks attending and taking part in the 1 in 10 out of hours oncall rota, as well as monthly clinics.
