Summary

Salary: Band 4, £23,152 to £24,362 FTE (£11,263 to £11,851 per annum pro rata actual salary for 18 hours) plus 7.5% shift pattern enhancement

Hours: Part Time (18 hours per week - Wednesday to Saturday, 2.00pm to 6.30pm)

Contract: Permanent

The Service:

Beechside Short Breaks Service offers a comprehensive short break care service to children and young people aged between 5-18 years who have additional physical and learning needs. As a service we take pride in our work by valuing others, focusing on what's important so that we make a real and positive difference.

The Role:

The post holder will cook nutritious meals for the children and young people who are staying at Beechside. They will involve the children and young people as much as possible in preparing and serving meals, and work with the whole Beechside team to create a friendly, welcoming, and safe environment for them.

What you'll need to succeed:

You will have experience of working in a school, care home, residential unit or other place where integrity and safeguarding children and/or vulnerable adults are an important part of the role. You will have good interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills, have or be willing to work towards a basic food hygiene certificate, and be able to manage a budget. You have proven cookery skills and experience planning menus in a people-focused way, providing for a wide range of special dietary requirements.
