Summary

The successful candidate will work clinically in all aspects of acute medicine, supported by an expanding and innovative team who provide expert assessment and management of acute medical patients. The dedicated team includes 5 Acute Consultants, Acute Registrars, Specialty Doctors, FY1 and FY2s in addition to diverse MDT professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious doctors to join our department in the provision of acute medical services across AAU, SDEC and ED in-reach.

This post would be ideal for those planning to pursue a career in Acute and General Medicine and candidates will gain invaluable experience in the acute medical setting. With a supportive training and learning environment and robust consultant and registrar presence, candidates will have the opportunity to develop and consolidate hands-on practical procedural skills and specialist interests. The department can offer multiple opportunities, including tailored career orientated road maps, help build portfolios to enter training successfully and options for SAS development and CESR pathways.

• Provision of junior support to the Medicine services.
• To provide daily care, management, and discharge of AAU,SDEC and ED in reach
• Shared role in delivery of teaching & training to junior doctors & non- medical
• Active participation in Clinical Governance, audit & research activities of these services.
• Administrative tasks for these services
• Keeping up to date & participating in CME & CPD

Participation in annual appraisals & job planning.
