Summary


Exciting opportunities are available for enthusiastic and self-motivated Specialist Orthoptists with excellent interpersonal skills, to join our friendly and innovative team based out of St Marys Hospital on the beautiful Isle of Wight.

On offer for the position is a salary of up to £50,056 per annum on agreement with recruiting manager and a relocation assistance package of up to £10,000, subject to Trust policy.

The Isle of Wight Orthoptic department is looking for an exceptional and experienced Specialist Orthoptist to join our team as we continue to develop into a variety of extended roles.

Thisposition supports the orthoptic stroke services. Although the role will be focused on stroke, the individual will have the freedom and autonomy to tailor the role to suit their own professional interests.

Our department is working to become an accredited orthoptic placement site and we are looking applicants who are enthusiastic about education to become part of the clinical tutor team. As a small team, we fully support individual development plans and provide the protected time and finances to grow and advance.

As an autonomous practitioner you will plan, implement and monitor individual orthoptic treatment plans/care pathways for patients of all ages using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.

You will have an extended role in stroke and additional extended roles can be tailored to the your areas of special interest.

You will also provide specialist training and education to orthoptic undergraduate students, pre-reg optometrists, health care assistants and nurses.
