Summary

We’re currently have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Worker to join our Dorset substance misuse service with a focus on Health Improvement.

This is a full time, permanent position. Due to the location we do ask that applicants have a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle, mileage will be paid!

You will be responsible for working with and motivating service users to engage in the recovery programmes we offer in Dorset. Our service welcomes people at any stage in their recovery journey, starting with the open end of harm reduction, through to brief interventions, extended interventions and structured treatment, and Recovery Workers offer support throughout.
This fixed term opportunity will focus on Health Improvement, providing support to the Avon & Wiltshire Partnership clinical teams with community alcohol detoxes, including home visits and follow on support.

In addition within this role, duties will include but not limited too:
Working autonomously to manage a caseload of our service users, including delivering a range of psychosocial interventions.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to undertake ongoing assessments, risk assessments, and appropriate referrals within the community
Facilitating group sessions with a range of individuals of varying backgrounds.,
Working in collaboration with the Reach team to identify and engage those deemed at risk of Blood Borne Viruses.
Assisting with BBV testing, accurate recording of results, liaising with clients for appropriate treatment.
Engaging clients in training and issue of Naloxone.
