Your new role
Supporting a child 1 to 1 who has recently transitioned out of a secure unit.

  • ·Caring and Nurturing: Create a safe haven where children feel secure and free from harm.
  • ·Positive Relationships: Build trust by offering unconditional positive regard and actively listening to their concerns.
  • ·Behavioural Guidance: Help children gain self-control by addressing unacceptable behaviour and reinforcing pro-social conduct.
  • ·Individualised Care Plans: Ensure each child's care plan reflects their changing needs and provide key worker support.
  • ·Empowerment: Facilitate active involvement in decision-making about their lives and future.
  • ·Community Integration: Encourage connections with the community and support extracurricular activities.
