Summary

The Royal Marsden Hospital has implemented a new Epic Digital Health Record System (DHR) in the last 18 months. From quicker access to patient records, to improved availability of documentation, and a patient portal, the new system is significantly improving patient outcomes, safety and experience. It gives us more access to accurate health information, which will enhance our existing life-saving research capabilities.
This is an exciting time to join the team and to gain further skills. As DHR configuration analyst/senior configuration analyst in the Ambulatory Team you will be responsible for ensuring the system is configured to meet new ‘best practice’ ways of working. The successful candidate will need a good understanding of workflows and it is desirable you have an Epic Certification or other DHR/EPR configuration qualification. You will be an expert in the application area, troubleshoot problems and address questions from end users regarding the application.

If necessary, you must be prepared to undertake training (in the UK and overseas) and, within five months of start date, become qualified in at least one of the relevant Epic applications. We will provide an opportunity for you to undertake an aptitude test as the first stage of the application process. The test is a great way to ensure you would be successful in passing the Epic Certification and excel in this role.

Please be advised this role will be offered at Band 6 or 7 depending on experience.
• Assisting with the delivery and optimisation of the Trust's electronic patient record (EPR) system within a designated team
• Working on several integrated areas to ensure a coordinated approach across all teams
• Working in partnership with our partners, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Epic
• Analysing and suggesting ways to improve current workflows and working practices
• Facilitating agreement for changes in working practices with appropriate stakeholders
• Matching agreed workflows with those already built into EPR system and/or configuring the EPR system using configuration tools to tailor the system
• Assisting with testing of the systems to ensure it is safe, usable, secure and robust

Post-pandemic our team will continue to work flexibly with a combination of remote and office based working days.
