Summary


We are very pleased to be seeking to recruit an experiencedBand 8a ACP Registered Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our Haringey Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The successful applicant will contribute to the multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist assessment, psychotherapy, consultation, training and supervision, alongside generic work, drawing on their previous experience and interests. Our Child Psychotherapy Team consists of team of six ACP registered child and adolescent psychotherapists, including three CAP trainees, working within CAMHS generic team. We also support students on placement who have interest in developing their psychoanalytical thinking. There is a strong interest in psychodynamic work within the wider team and contributions from Child Psychotherapists are well respected and valued. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to contribute the development of Tri-borough 0-5 Service.

The generic team works with our key partners Open Door and the Tavistock and Portman Clinic, (Tavistock Lifespan, CAMHS and LAC teams) as well as other agencies providing mental health services in Haringey. We also work closely with colleagues from children’s social care, schools and colleges, youth offending services, the Child Development Centre, the Royal Free Eating Disorder Service.

The post holder will provide psychotherapy assessments and specialist psychotherapy treatment including Short Term Psychotherapy (STPP) and parent work, alongside briefer models of generic clinical work. There would be opportunities to provide supervision to other child psychotherapists within the Service and other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team where appropriate. As part of the Generic team we also have opportunities to work with children under 5 and their parents/carers and our 0-5 Team is currently developing and expanding.

The post holder will be an experienced Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist with experience of working with children and adolescents and their parents. They will provide both direct and indirect care, working with colleagues within the multidisciplinary team. They will have knowledge / expertise of assessments and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents with Mental Health issues and neurodevelopment disorders. This position provides opportunities to work with and develop links with health and social care as part of theTHRIVEFramework to delivery of care for young people.
