Purpose of the role and your responsibilities;
We are recruiting for fully or partially skilled Microsurfacing / Highway Operatives throughout the UK. The role will require the person to work in small teams assisting to deliver Microsurfacing maintenance programmes across the UK Highway Network. The position involves outdoor work and manual labour yet it's fulfilling as it contributes to enhancing local infrastructure and local communities. HGV licences are required to transport our specialist plant and equipment from site to site but this is not a driving job.
Essential Requirements
• HGV Licence
• Driver CPC
• CSCS Card
• Ability to work away from home & alternate weekends
• Have a good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements in the workplace
• The ability to carry out heavy manual tasks involving lifting and handling materials and equipment, loading and unloading vehicles etc
• Team player
• A confident and professional manner
• Ability to receive and give clear and precise instructions
• Ability to work under pressure
Desirable traits of the individual
• Microsurfacing / Highway Working experience
• Good customer service skills
• Experience of working with Local Authorities.
• Experience in operating hi-abs
• Experience in operating road sweepers
Working arrangements;
As we are a nationwide company with our workload transient and fast-paced the role will require you to work away from home. All applicants will be required to work Monday - Friday and every alternative weekend. Transport to/from work will be arranged, accommodation will be provided and a subsistence allowance will be paid when working away from home. Our operational working window is weather dependant therefore we commence operations in March and cease when the temperatures become too cold (typically early November), however, full time positions may become available for the right candidate, though this cannot be guaranteed.
