Wiring & Soldering Operative

We would like to expand our team and have opportunities for a Wiring & Soldering Operative to support our manufacturing and assembly team.

Job Title - Wiring & Soldering Operative
Company - Forwessun – Woodend Industrial Estate, L24
Position Details - Permanent, starting immediately
Hours - 37.5 Hours per week (Monday to Thursday – 08:30 to 17:00
Friday – 08:30 to 14:30) -- Open to Part Time hours candidates
Starting Salary - £11.44 / hour
Essential Experience and Skills:
• Able to learn to read electrical wiring schematics
• Problem solving skills
• Previous experience in a workshop environment – using hand tools etc
• Having an industrious work ethic and a good eye for detail
Job Specification
Forwessun supports the electronics industry worldwide and is currently looking to increase its manufacturing and assembly team.
The role will include:
• Working within a small, workshop based, manufacturing team.
• Wiring of test fixtures;
o Use of a wire wrap gun on square pins
o Use of manual hand wrap / unwrap tool
o Use of soldering iron
o Use of wire crimps
o Use of semi-automatic wiring machine
• Following test engineer documentation
• Identification, investigation and solving of open and shorts within a closed electronic system.
• General electronic component identification
• Manual assembly of test fixtures;
o Screw fitting
o General hand tool usage
o Assembly of intricate small and large parts
• Highly precise craftsmanship and high attention to detail
• Able to work independently and efficiently.
• Completion of QA checks throughout the manufacturing process, resolving issues found until systems work consistently and reliably.
• Capability to read OR to learn to read wiring schematics
• To be aware of company health and safety requirements
