Summary

Great opportunity to work as a Fire Security Officer for G4S, a leading global security and outsourcing group, specialising in outsourcing of business processes in sectors where security and safety risks are considered a strategic threat.

G4S is recruiting for a Fire Security Officer to work in Basildon.

The rate of pay is £13.68 per hour.

This is a full-time and permanent role, working a varied shift pattern inclusive of days, nights and weekends.

*£1.00 an hour extra for all employees who pass a level 3 apprenticeship course and an extra 0.50p per hour whilst training. (More information will be given upon request)*

Your Time at Work

The Guard (Fire & Security) position is an operational role that is at the forefront of the plant's risk
reduction strategy and first line emergency response. You will need to be qualified to operate highly specialised equipment (including testing and maintenance where required) and in a range of emergency response techniques.

You will carry out all fire checks, security checks and ensure all weekly and monthly paperwork are
completed - in line with Ford Fire Bulletin 27 requirements. Weekly checks include:

- Sprinkler and pump test
- Carry out break glass test
- Issue of the Hotwork permits and standby extinguishers
- Be readily available for standbys, drain downs, emergency response, fires, floods, spillages and burst fire mains or any jobs which come in (when maintenance are working on sprinkler alarm system - standby required.)
- Safety walks (Housekeeping) of buildings during production hours i.e. no obstructions to fire equipment etc.
- Recorded patrols as laid out on rota or as required
- Covering other duties on a rota basis
- Clean fire equipment and bay
- Trained to SLA requirements
- Basic knowledge of all Ford Fire bulletins
- Conduct visual walk round of buildings
- Report any faults via the Ford in house maintenance systems.
- Operate the radio system
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Read and 'action' e-mails.

Our Perfect Worker


Our perfect worker will need to be aged 18 or over, a confident communicator who is a team player with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service at all times. A good IT knowledge is also key.

It would be a benefit to have some security experience and your SIA licence, however it's not essential, as we provide full SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence training.

**Please note, you will need to hold a full manual UK driving licence and have your own transport**
