Summary


You will be part of a multi-disciplinary ward team working on the short stay medical unit . They will be the first point of contact for visitors, patients and other staff of all disciplines and will provide a comprehensive range of clerical functions to support the ward team in delivering a high quality service to patients.

You will act as liaison between the clinical team, the patient’s family, friends etc. and other third parties such as police, social services and clinical staff in other trusts. You will predominantly be using NHS it systems, including patient centre on a daily basis.

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional Ward Clerk to join the team on The Acute Medical Unit.

As the successful candidate, you will provide clerical support and reception duties whilst also working in a very busy acute medical setting

You will be the first point of contact for visitors, patients and other staff of all disciplines, and will provide a comprehensive range of clerical functions to support the ward team in delivering a high quality service to patients.

Your duties will include updating case notes and handling documentation, discharges, making appointments and arranging transport.

Good IT skills are essential to this role as you will predominantly be using NHS IT systems, including Patient Centre systems on a daily basis.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed to liaise with all staff, patients, relatives and other third parties such as police, social services and clinical staff in other Trusts.

You should be highly motivated, flexible , with attention to detail.
