Summary
We are looking for passionate and ambitious Psychology Graduates with a passion for supporting students with SEMH needs in an alternative provision near Wigan. The students will be aged 4 - 19 and it is essential that you have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.
Position Details:
- Location - Wigan
- Position - Graduate Teaching Assistant
- Type of work - General Teaching Assistant work with small groups of Children with SEMH needs
- Position start date - June 2024
- Duration - Temp to perm
- Full time/part time - Full time
- Rate of pay - Minimum rate £85 - £100 per day
- Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)
Responsibilities:
- Working with and providing support to children with SEN (Special Educational Needs)
- Experience of supporting pupils with SEMH needs
- The willingness to provide an environment in which pupils can reach their full potential
- The ability to build rapports with the children, supporting their social and behavioural needs, and acting as a mentor
Role Requirements:
- Psychology (BA Hons) degree
- Enhanced DBS (clean and relevant) - Can be obtained through us
- Safeguarding certificate, prevent awareness, FGM - essential
- Behaviour management training - desirable
- A committed and enthusiastic attitude to work
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to form new relationships
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with young people
- Good knowledge of SEMH needs
