Summary


Due to internal promotions, exciting opportunities have arisen within ABUHB. We are looking for Band 6 Speech and Language Therapists for permanent positions (total 1.6 wte) to become part of the Children’s Team. The successful candidates will either work inthe school’s team in the Newport or Caerphilly Boroughand/or in theChildren’s Centre team in Caerphilly.

Within the school’s team the successful candidate will work collaboratively with staff in schools delivering services to children with DLD impacting on their access to the curriculum and with families.  The speech and language therapist will deliver the DLD pathway and support in the ongoing development of this.   

Within the children’s centre team the successful candidate will work with children with complex needs and their families within the environments that can affect most change. Dysphagia competencies are desirable but not essential.

We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to providing an excellent level of care to children, young people and their families, using evidence based practice to inform this. We seek someone with a dynamic approach, who can work collaboratively and effectively with others within both the SLT teams and the wider multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will contribute to the development of a service which is constantly seeking to improve.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board offers a network of 90 therapists and assistants. Staff and team meetings take place throughout the year.

Staff receive regular supervision and training opportunities appropriate for their post.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
