Summary

Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (08:30 - 15:30)
Pay: £1500 approx per month
Location: Newport
Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a school based within the Newport area. We are looking for educators to start ASAP on a fixed term basis until July 2024.

The role will be based within an additional learning needs base which is situated within a mainstream primary school. The role will entail various pupils with complex needs such as ADHD, ASD, behavioural challenges, social and emotional difficulties and medical needs.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide support to pupils in special schools using appropriate strategies and resources.
- Implement agreed learning activities/teaching programmes adjusting activities according to pupil's needs.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Personal Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
- With training attend to the personal needs of pupils and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, emergency aid, medical support and welfare needs and administer medication where required.
- Challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem.
- Make recommendations to teacher or other staff on approaches to improving inclusion of pupils.
- Contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning programmes for individuals or groups within the remit of the role.
- Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses.

The role you will play is integral to all learners' progress. It will be you and the class teacher who sets expectations for learning by creating emotionally safe environments as well as meeting individual needs that supports learners to be the best they can be.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
