We are looking for enthusiastic Project Managers to join our Project & Programme Management Team, who can help us drive forward change to make a real difference for our Island community.

The Project Manager will provide project management and leadership of a portfolio of Island Community Health, Mental Health, and Learning Disabilities services, working in conjunction with Hampshire & IOW partners to drive forward transformation at both a place-based level with Island partners, and internally within Island-based Community and Mental Health & Learning Disabilities services.

This is a truly exceptional opportunity for individuals wishing to join at a enormously exciting time as IOW services come together with other Community, Mental Health & Learning Disabilities service across Hampshire to create a new Foundation Trust.

Being part of our Project & Programme Team, you’ll be supported to quickly assimilate ways of working, coached through projects as needed, and given autonomy and flexibility to deliver on your duties.

Across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight healthcare services are evolving and transforming to meet the continuing care needs of our population. Now is a very exciting time to join Isle of Wight NHS Trust as we enter this period of change.

This year Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust have strengthened our partnership and formed a group giving us an opportunity to work together to be innovative in improving patient care and outcomes as well as improving the experience and opportunities for our people across the two organisations.

We have also been working with other local NHS Trusts across our region to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the new organisation will be called Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

As part of the move towards working as one organisation, people employed in our community, mental health and learning disability services by the Isle of Wight NHS Trust on 30 April 2024, will transfer to Southern Health Foundation Trust under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) on 1 May 2024.

On 1stJuly 2024 Southern Health will become the new organisation (Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare Foundation Trust).

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust will continue to deliver both acute and ambulance services for the island population.

Key Responsibilities:
• Under the supervision of the Programme Manager , to project manage the delivery of discrete/multiple/simultaneous projects, which will contribute to a programme of change. This could including the development and of business case, cases for investment and transformation plans.
• To build and maintain relationships with colleagues across the Trust to develop a clear understanding of the needs and challenges and areas where a Project Manager can add most value.
• To build relationships with other improvement managers and relevant bodies both internally and externally to the Trust to support the sharing of knowledge and best practice .
• To deliver agreed tasks within multiple simultaneous projects supporting operational delivery including supporting recruitment, estates issues, policy and protocol development and involving liaison with multiple operational and corporate services.
• To ensure the meaningful involvement of service users at all appropriate points in the service improvement process.
• To contribute to the development of metrics to identify the effect of service change and benefits to service users and the Trust.
• To communicate on matters pertaining to the projects to both internal and external customers and key stakeholders.
• To contribute to the development of annual business , quality, workforce and finance plans for the service divisions
• To contribute to a co-ordinated and collaborative approach to planning transformational with colleagues from other Divisions within the Trust.
