Our fabulous East Dunbartonshire team is on the lookout for compassionate and creative individuals with a positive attitude to join them as Support Practitioners. We have full and part-time opportunities available in Kirkintilloch and Milngavie.

You don't need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner including a fully funded SVQ.

The Role

As a Support Practitioner, you will assist individuals living in their own homes with disabilities and/or additional support needs in all aspects of their daily lives, including support with medication and finances, housework, meal preparation, cooking and personal care.

The people we support have a variety of different hobbies which we’ll be looking to you to take an active interest in, from going out for a tasty bite or catching the latest movie to a gym session or group activity, the list is endless.

To be part of our team, we’ll need you to:

Have an empathetic and caring nature.
Good observation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Confidence in using computers.
Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated friendly team provide 24/7 support which is tailored to the needs of each individual, so depending on shift length you may be supporting more than one individual but do not worry as we factor travel into your hours. Our shifts include 9am – 5pm, 10am – 6pm and sleepovers which start at 9am until 9am the following day and sleep between 11pm and 7am.

There may be occasions that you will be asked to start early or stay later depending on activities the people we support have on.

All successful Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer- this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of their start date.
