Summary

We are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Sociology to contribute to the research, teaching and leadership activities within the Department and, contribute specifically to the successful delivery of the Department’s innovative undergraduate Sociology programme.

While we are open to any areas of specialist expertise, we would be especially pleased to hear from applicants who work in any of the following fields:
• Crime and deviance
• Leisure, popular culture and consumption
• Disability studies
• Cities and urban life
• Environment and sustainability

You will have a PhD in relevant discipline, have a proven teaching ability with a growing record of quality research publications. Expertise and the ability to teach in the areas of social inequalities, social theory and social change, ideally at both undergraduate and postgraduate level is essential. You will be expected to represent the Department in the wider University and promote and represent the University and the discipline nationally and internationally.
