Summary
A Personal Assistant is required to support a man who is in his sixties to access the community. The employer has Autism and some mental health difficulties.
The job includes supporting him to meetings or accessing places such as the GP and chemist. He also likes to go for drives and visit specific shops. He will require support to use the phone and book appointments or collect prescriptions. He loves his car and will always drive himself; sometimes you can go with him but other times you will need to meet him there. This would therefore be easier if you are a driver.
You will be required to advocate for him on occasion.
The employer will arrange and pay for an enhanced DBS check.
Hours of work are a minimum of 3 hours per week. You will be required to cover another employee’s holiday or sickness to a maximum of 6 hours a week, or any weeks they may not be able to give him the hours he requires.
The hourly rate is £12.40 per hour.
Flexibility in availability would be necessary but hours are likely to be evenings and weekends.
