A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a full time Veterinary Surgeon role at a practice based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. With the beautiful Norfolk coastline only an hour's drive away this is the perfect position for someone who loves the great outdoors. Based in Thetford our client has been providing outstanding small animal care to the people and pets in the area since the 1960's. They have built their service on care and respect for pets and their owners, with a personal, friendly approach.
The team comprises of experienced Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses and receptionists, some of whom have been there for many years. You will mainly be based in the Thetford practice however our client does have two other practices in the area. All facilities are well-equipped and offer many services including an in-house laboratory, dental work, in-house diagnostics, surgery and much more. Our client encourages further study, and has 4 vets who either have, or are working towards, certificates in their chosen subjects (medicine, feline medicine, emergency and critical care, and ophthalmology) and they all enjoy helping each other out with clinical cases.
Our client is open to an experienced vet but would equally be supportive of a less experienced candidate who wants to build up some confidence in surgery, as this is key to the role. They are looking for someone who wants to be part of the team and who will strive to provide the best possible care for the pets and people who walk through their doors.
The Rota:
• Full time - 36 hours per week
• 4-day week
• The weekend rota equates to working one weekend every 5 or 6 weeks, with these alternating between first duty and back-up duty.
• First duty: Saturdays 8:30am - 5pm, Sundays 9am - 12pm (day off in lieu)
• Back-up duty: Saturdays 9am - 12pm
• There is no on call during the week, but you would have a night of inpatient duty every 2 weeks (in patient care is provided by the nurses, but they have a vet on duty in case they have any concerns - very rare).
