We have a fantastic opportunity for a night veterinary surgeon to work at an independent, purpose-built, gold standard cat only clinic situated in a neighbourhood of South East London that combines history, culture, culinary delights, and green spaces to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

This local gem has it all! With a loyal client base and an exciting mix of cases. From first opinion work to fascinating second opinions and growing referral cases, there is never a dull moment. Plus, they specialise in feline-specific ophthalmology, ensuring top-notch care. And the best part? They have recently expanded their services to offer round-the-clock emergency and inpatient care.

At this innovative practice, they go above and beyond to ensure furry companions receive the highest quality treatment. Equipped with the latest technology, including Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Bair Hugger™ technology, and purpose-designed operating theatres, they leave no stone unturned in delivering top-notch care.

Get ready to be part of an extraordinary team! Led by a dynamic clinical director and a team of expert veterinary surgeons, including an Ophthalmology Specialist, this passionate group is dedicated to providing exceptional care. With special interests and experience in internal medicine, especially cardiology and diagnostic imaging, including cardiac and abdominal ultrasonography. They boast a fantastic team of skilled veterinary nurses, caring assistants, a top-notch practice manager, and a support staff.

As a single species practice, they prioritise quality over quantity, ensuring that you won't be overwhelmed with an over-subscribed night service. With an average of just 3 inpatients, you will have ample time to familiarise yourself with the cases and provide thorough care when necessary. Emergency calls from both registered and non-registered clients are efficiently triaged by a dedicated RVN. Plus, you'll have the invaluable support of a VCA by your side until 9:30 pm from Monday to Friday. Say goodbye to the chaos and hello to a well-structured and manageable workload!

Our client is looking for someone exceptional with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in ECC and a strong passion for feline medicine. This role focuses heavily on medicine and in-patient management, but as the sole charge in the night shift, your surgical skills should shine as you handle non-routine emergency procedures like C-sections and exploratory GI surgery with confidence. Collaborating closely with the day team, you'll ensure seamless, gold standard healthcare for every patient.

The Rota:
• 7 nights on and 14 nights off
• Each weekday shift is 13 hours, and each weekend/bank holiday shift is 14 hours

The Benefits:
• Salary up to £65,000 DOE
•£1250 CPD allowance
• 5 days paid CPD leave
• Discretionary performance bonus
• Membership fees paid (RCVS, VDS)
• Employee discounts
• Pension scheme
• Annual pay review

• Culture days focusing on self-care
• Regular 1-2-1's with line managers
• Cycle to work scheme if desired
• Discretionary paid bereavement leave
• Company sick pay
