Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust as a Simulation Administrator based at Basildon Hospital.

You will work to provide administrative support to the team at the Simulation Centre, Group Director of Medical Education and Associate DME.

The Simulation Centre is located within the Postgraduate Medical Education Department of the Mid & South Essex University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at Basildon. It provides simulation-based courses to all medical and non-medical staff, additionally we provide support to the undergraduate and postgraduate medical programmes, and custom simulation courses for clinical staff. Simulations are scheduled between 9am-4pm Monday to Friday with occasional evening or weekend sessions. During this time the postholder will require to be flexible with the working hours.

This is an administrative, technical support and customer service role that ensures optimal functioning of educational technologies within the simulation facility. It requires knowledge of audio-visual and computer technologies, administration, healthcare delivery, and organization policy and procedures. You will be required to exercise judgement, set priorities, and manage responsibilities within established parameters. You will be expected to be responsible for the provision of a full and flexible administration role, support the simulation lead and simulation facilitators in the day to day running of the centre. You will be required to undertake a high degree of independent working, as well as the ability to work as part of a busy team.

You must be able to independently lift and manoeuvre objects within the permitted weights mandated within the manual handling policy, frequent bending, lifting, standing, and sitting are required.

The aim of the role is to provide an excellent experience to all users of the Simulation Suite. You will be highly motivated, be able to demonstrate a pleasant and professional manner when dealing with trainees, doctors, and staff alike. They would be highly organised, quick to learn and able to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision.
