Summary
We are looking for Cemetery Operatives to support several cemeteries across the Wigan Borough. You will have previous experience in planning new memorialisation, locating graves using plans and electronic information to manage floral tributes. These roles will be based across the wigan borough and will cover 9 other cemeteries. Paying £12.18 per hour working 7.4 hours per day
What will you be doing as a Cemetery Operative?
- Preparation, presentation, and backfilling graves in line with the policy and procedures using appropriate plant and equipment.
- Take pride in all you do, high standards including grass cutting, hedge cutting, weed killing, planting, bin emptying, litter/leaf collection of floral tributes.
- Maintenance to achieve expected presentation in all cemetery grounds.
- Able to follow and be accountable for compliance with all relevant legislation with local rules and regulations.
- Carry out burials, burial/scattering of cremated remains and exhumations with dignity and sensitivity to families dealing with bereavement.
We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
- You will have previous experience in memorialisation, grave preparation, grounds maintenance etc.
- Used to working with sensitivity and dignity.
