Here in the Serco recruitment team, we're responsible for hiring people that deliver essential public services in Defence, Transport, Justice & Immigration, Citizen Services and Healthcare.

As the Operational Support Officer you will report for duty at the appropriate time in order to check the daily detail to take up your post for the day. You will liaise with the Visits Unit Manager or PCO in charge, with regard to any special instructions for the day ahead. You will ensure any equipment at your given work station/post is in good working order and that any required test checks are completed (x-ray equipment, Vis Fingers, metal detectors etc). Operational Support Clerks should be aware of all security measures in place, within the confines of the visits department and the prison as a whole, noting and bringing to the attention of the Visits Unit Manager any discrepancies or practices by visitors or staff, which may effect such security measures. Lastly, you will be checking visitors ID is correct. Operate Camera Room and Visits Podium and advising visitors what they can and can't have in their possession under the Offender Management Act 2007 and the regulations of HMP & YOI. What you need to do the job -
NVQ2 in Customer Services is desirable.
