We have an exciting opportunity to join the neurophysiotherapy rotations at Northwick Park Hospital.

The rotations include:

• The Regional Hyperacute Rehabilitation level 1 Unit serving patients with complex neurological disability.
• A dynamic interdisciplinary Neurological Therapy Service for acute neurological inpatients. Treating a wide variety of conditions including head injury, stroke, spinal injury, neuro-oncology MS & PD.
• Neuro outpatients.
• An integrated stroke service including Hyper Acute stroke, Acute stroke rehab and Stroke ESD.

The post will allow you to develop your therapeutic, interdisciplinary and management skills. There is a high level of clinical support from senior therapists with a wide range of experience and knowledge.

• Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.

We are a university teaching NHS trust, in recognition of the important role we play in training clinicians of the future and bringing the benefits of research to the public.

• As an autonomous practitioner to assess and treat own case load and provide a specialist neurology physiotherapy service to patients.
• To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), assessing and treating patients with complex neurological disability and maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records.
• To work closely with the clinical leads for the inpatient and outpatient neurology physiotherapy service to support the development of the services.
• To contribute to the management of all aspects of the Neurology Inpatient Physiotherapy Service. This includes prioritising and organising all referrals to the neurology service and allocation of patients.
• To be a member of the team working as part of the rostered 7 day neuro service and respiratory on-call rota.
• To be responsible for the development and appraisal of the team members, including Band 5,4,2 and students.
• To regularly provide formal and informal, on-going training and education to physiotherapy staff, other healthcare professions and students.
• To engage in own continued professional development (CPD) and service development.
• To participate in clinical audit and research within the team.


The successful applicant will need to:
• Have experience as a band 5 in both acute and rehabilitation settings.
