Summary
Being a Care Assistant isn’t just about “delivering personal care”, yes this is a part of the role where you will be expected to support individuals with bathroom visits and bathing for example, however it is so much more, and here we talk about the emotional support you will be expected to “deliver”.
A Care Assistant role is about ensuring the person you support has a continuation of life which means that they get to carry on leading a life as they would before they moved into the care home.
A home is less about bricks and mortar but much more about the emotional connection and sense of safety that we are able to create behind closed doors.
