Summary
This is a brilliant opportunity for a dedicated person to promote and improve the voice of Children and Young People in the planning, delivery and improvement of services.
We’ll rely on you to ensure there is effective and sensitive communication between, the Children and Young People in your care, those who care for them, the health professionals you work with and other relevant agencies.
MFT CAMHS sits within Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) and is comprised of 48 separate services, including 5 Core CAMHS services (North, South, Salford, Central & Trafford), Looked After Children/Adoption services, Children with Disabilities Service and Manchester Eating Disorders Service, along with Inpatient Services based at Galaxy House. The post holder will enable and amplify children and young people’s voices to be heard through a participatory model, enabling children and young people to feel listened to and empowered by actively involving them in design and delivery of CAMH Services
The postholder will achieve this working alongside service participation leads and service managers, developing and supporting service user involvement and participation throughout the CAMHS Directorate. The post holder will contribute to and support the development of a participation strategy across CAMHS and help implement this strategy by supporting and developing service user involvement and participation.
The postholder will work in collaboration with managers, clinical leads and children and young people to identify projects and work streams where participation is a key factor in service development. The postholder will then support the development and implement these projects and work streams ensuring that children and young people are at the heart of everything that they do

Work collaboratively with the Participation Leads and other peer consultants to design a Participation / Co Production / Consultation framework for CAMHS.
Work across a variety of CAMHS settings including, education (MHST), eating disorders, core services and voluntary sector organisations, engaging with children and young people and those that care for them.
Using the Lundy Model of engagement and empowerment, develop new and innovate ways to hear and amplify the voices and views of children and young people, service users and those who care for them.
To link into to the MFT RMCH Youth Voice Team, to share skills and experience.
To help MFT CAMHS think about their communication strategy for children, young people and those who care for them.
To develop and deliver training for young people to be involved in a wide range of tasks (e.g., recruitment of CAMHS staff)
