Summary

At Ar Curam, we provide care, support and accommodation for children and young people aged between 8-17 years old in small residential care homes where we aim to achieve excellent outcomes for the children and young people in our care.

We have some exciting opportunities to join our expanding organisation within our current locations, also with opportunities in the future due to Company expansion. We also actively promote internal development and succession planning.

We have existing houses in New Marske, Redcar, Eaglescliffe a few minutes from Yarm, and also Thornaby where we provide Residential Care and Support to small groups of young people. We are also opening a new home in the Stockton area in Summer this year where we will be looking for a full staff team.

Applicants must be passionate about effecting long term change in the lives of vulnerable children and young people by providing essential support that enables them to reach their full potential.

Duties will include; actively and effectively safeguarding and promoting the rights of children and young people, teaching life skills and coping strategies, building confidence, self-esteem and resilience, accompanying them to and from education, facilitating family time, creating a warm, comforting and homely environment including all daily household tasks and encouraging participation in local activities and hobbies. The role also involves the monitoring, recording and completion of all relevant paperwork involved with the young person’s care.

To work with us, you will need to demonstrate your passion for working with young people. You will be motivated, empathetic and understanding, able to establish and build on nurturing meaningful relationships which will enable you to fully understand the young persons views, wishes and feelings to allow us to effectively advocate for them.

A full driving licence is preferable in order to undertake the full duties of the role which includes accompanying our young people on outings, meetings or responding to emergency situations appropriately. Applicants without a driving licence will be considered in line with balancing the teams needs as well as the Equality Act.

If you are nurturing, caring and enjoy working with children we look forward to hearing from you.

If you have applied before and feel you have relevant skills and experience, we would be interested in hearing from you again. If you have been interviewed in a time period over 6 months and have gained further experience in this time, please get in touch if you wish to discuss a further opportunity.

Due to the volume of CV’s we may receive, we may not respond to all interest.

Please note: Right to work in the UK is required for these positions.
