Summary


This 8B post is designed to support Clinical Health Psychological Services with the line management, clinical supervision and service development requirements of the exciting and developing community CHPS service and to work closely with the Professional Lead and Operational Lead for CHPS in this respect.

Community CHPS is a significant component of the wider CHPS service at NELFT. We focus on the development and management of clinical health psychological services trust wide in the community. This covers a large catchment area including BHR, Waltham Forest and Thurrock and has a large number of clinical health psychological professionals. A further role is to work closely with the Professional and Operational Leads for CHPS in implementing the newly developing long term conditions psychology posts and supporting the new CAPS posts. Managing and supervising a range of psychological professionals is a key component of the role.

To be responsible for day-to-day management of the Community CHPS service, managing caseloads, staffing and other resources and to be accountable for the direct delivery of the service, providing regular feedback to the Strategic and Clinical Lead and Operational Lead for CHPS

To work on the long-term strategy to develop community focused Psychological Therapies in line with national, pan-London and local guidelines and priorities

To provide high level specialist clinical skills, supporting patients, their families, and relevant staff

The post holder will demonstrate expertise in planning and organising complex activities and programmes for their own post and the posts that they manage. This will include a highly developed ability to utilise research skills for audit, policy and service evaluation and development. A key role will be to take the lead in ensuring that evidence-based outcome measures are used to measure the efficacy of treatment and to obtain the necessary data to present the outcome of the quarterly reports in lines with KPI requirements of the service level agreement.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).
