Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior People Advisers in NELFT to provide support to our services.

The role is an interactive one and will involve frequent engagement with staff at various levels, ensuring a truly customer focused service is delivered. You will have the opportunity to be involved in specific projects.

The post holder will work in partnership with the People Services, to ensure a comprehensive, quality and timely HR service is provided to a designated client base in relation to all aspects of human resources. They will provide advice and support to managers using coaching, negotiating, influencing and facilitation skills as required.

The successful candidate will be level 7 CIPD qualified. They should have significant experience in delivering front line human resources advice and guidance, including investigations, disciplinary hearings and performance / absence management/ management of change and grievances.

We are looking for a driven Senior People Adviser who will be able to demonstrate experience of successfully managing a varied and demanding caseload, and meeting strict deadlines.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% - 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £5,436). HCAS payment is dependant on workbase location.

The main responsibilities of the post:

Working in partnership with the People Services to ensure a comprehensive, quality and timely HR service is provided to service areas in relation to all aspects of human resources. This will include:

• Responsible for contributing to the provision of a professional HR service and providing advice on a range of issues to specific area(s) and service groups
• Contributing to the on-going development of the services to meet organisational needs
• Supports and deputises where appropriate
• Participate in HR projects
• Coach staff and managers to develop their skills in people management
